The year is 1759.
General Hux is a Prussian officer serving at the Russian court, safe in the favor of the Imperial Grand Duke (whom he doesn’t really like but tolerates for political reasons). Veniamin Ivanovich Solovyev is a young Russian nobleman who often poses as an Englishman by the name of Lord Kyle Ren. He dislikes everything Russian and despises his parents’ intense patriotism.
Hux wants power and success; Venya wants attention and recognition (and independence from the shadow of his parents). The war is not helping things.
